Portobello South Winter Family Fun Day

OTTAWA, Ontario (January 29, 2014) Members of the Portobello South community are invited to come out this Family Day for some fun outdoor activities. The second annual Portobello South Community Development Association (PSCDA) Winter Family Fun Day will take place on Monday, February 17th from 1-3PM. Horse-drawn sleigh rides, bird-feeder workshops, snow games, hot chocolate and cookies will be among the free activities.

“Our Winter Family Fun Day was so popular last year we just had to bring it back,” says Pamela Moss, PSCDA President. “Families can make the most of a day off, enjoying some outdoor play without the stress of driving and parking downtown.”

Winter-lovers are encouraged to bring skates, hockey sticks and sleds to Portobello Park on Monday, February 17th from 1-3PM. A Port-A-Potty, tent and heater will be on site for visitors’ comfort. Please note this is a weather-dependent event, so watch the PSCDA on Facebook and www.pscda.ca in the event of inclement weather. All activities are free, courtesy of funding from the City of Ottawa and Minto Developments and volunteer assistance from the PSCDA and the community.

Formed in 2007, the Portobello South Community Development Association represents 20,000 residents along the Portobello Boulevard in the catchment area between Innes Road to the North and Brian Coburn Road to the south, Trim Road to the east and Tenth Line Road to the west.
