PSCDA Beefs up Winter Fun Day with Hearty Fare and Maple Taffy

OTTAWA, Ontario (January 30, 2015) February 16th will mark the PSCDA’s third annual Winter Family Fun Day in Portobello Park. Members of the Portobello South community are invited to come enjoy some fun outdoor activities like horse-drawn sleigh rides, bird-feeder workshops, snow games, hot chocolate and cookies.

“This year we’re excited to announce Beef Boyz food truck is joining us to serve up some hot chili and other hearty fare plus we will be offering free maple taffy sticks for a sweet winter treat,” says Steven Sauve, PSCDA President. “Families can make the most of a day off, enjoying some outdoor play without the stress of driving and parking downtown.”

Winter-lovers are encouraged to bring skates, hockey sticks and sleds to Portobello Park on Monday, February 16th from 1-3PM. A Port-A-Potty, tent and heaters will be on site for visitors’ comfort. Please note this is a weather-dependent event, so watch the PSCDA on Facebook and www.pscda.ca in the event of inclement weather. Aside from Beef Boyz, all activities are free, courtesy of funding from the City of Ottawa and Minto Developments and volunteer assistance from the PSCDA and the community. Please see Beef Boyz on Facebook for their menu and pricing; cash, credit and debit are all accepted.

Formed in 2007, the Portobello South Community Development Association represents 20,000 residents along the Portobello Boulevard in the catchment area between Innes Road to the North and Wall Road to the south, Trim Road to the east and Tenth Line Road to the west.
